An experimental web-based chat is now active at http://raieh.game-host.org/ajax/chat for dicussing Raieh. There is a bot named Thuren who can answer basic questions about Hanekhera and Vecma. Thuren won't pass any Turing tests, but it does know a lot about important people and places in Vecma.

Raieh contributors, wouldn't it be great if we could spend some quality time exchanging ideas for Raieh? Well, now we can! Here's the plan: using chat tools like AIM or IRC, we can convene at predetermined times to discuss culture, geography, gaming, fiction, any Raieh related topic, really.

A couple of options are listed below. Eventually we may decide to settle on a single chat facility, maybe even hosted here on this server, but that's all in the future. I don't yet know enough about the various services to know what might suit our needs to best. For now, let's try to connect using one of the following:

AIM

Using AOL instant messenger, find the option to join a chat room, and select (or type) RaiehFractalPlanet. A few of us use AIM, so this seemes like a likely place to gather.

IRC

I used IRC years ago, and it seems to have more features than AIM, but maybe those features are overkill for us, anyway. Here' the connect info:

ICQ

OK, some of you have used ICQ in the past, too. I haven't, but I'd be open to it if you think it's a better solution for our chat. Let me know...
